Memo #8 – What every coach can learn from Wayne Dyer.
W. W. Dyer
One of my favorite quotes of all time is from American author and speaker, Wayne Walter Dyer:
If you can change the way you look at things, the things you look at [will inevitably] change.
Why though?
Because for creatives, athletes, professionals, and even coaches too – the right mindset is everything.
In today’s Memo..
We’ll go over 5 of the most toxic beliefs holding coaches back; some facts and realities around them..
Plus what you can do to fix them asap.
Ready?
1. “There’s too much competition.”
Fact: 1.7M coaches are active on LinkedIn.
Reality: Only a few thousands have real substance beneath.
What to do: Lead with personality and a unique idea that differentiates you from the crowd.
•••
2. “I’m not qualified enough.”
Fact: Only 109,200 coaches have verified certifications.
Reality: No one is ever 100% qualified.
What to do: Get genuinely skilled in your field - keep learning always.
•••
3. “I don’t have enough time.”
Fact: No coach has more than 24hrs per day.
Reality: There’ll never be “enough time”.
What to do: Learn to prioritize and say NO more often.
•••
4. “I can’t charge what I’m worth.”
Fact: You literally can.
Reality: There’s mindset blocks holding you back.
What to do: Fix that mindset, figure out what your service is truly worth – then charge clients unapologetically.
•••
5. “I’m too young / too old.”
Fact: The coaching industry has no age barrier.
Reality: You’re never too young or old to change lives.
What to do: Again, fix that mindset. Age is not an excuse.
•••
One last one..
Which kinda feels like the most common one tbh:
“I can handle things on my own.”
Fact: All successful coaches have great support systems.
Reality: You can’t do it all (consistently) without experiencing burnout at some point.
What to do: Focus on your strengths – outsource your weaknesses.
So there..
Still find any of these beliefs holding you back?
Today’s a great Wednesday to work on those weak spots and turn them into strengths that help you perform at 100%.
So give it a go and let me know it goes :)
